Those names and prayer requests are also being prayed for every week at the prayer meetings, and we will continue to do so.

dear brothers and sisters,

I hope you’ve all had a good week of seeing God’s grace in your lives and of being aware of what God is teaching you. this week, God has been showing me how much i need Him and has been really humbling me, pointing out to me places where i need to ask Him for forgiveness and for Him to come into those areas of my life. but I like what psalm 73 says: “whom have i in heaven but you? and earth has nothing i desire besides you. my flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (vs 25-26). may this be our prayer, to want none else than our God!

there are a couple updates that are pretty important, so please resist the temptation to skim these announcements !

1. Fellowship this THURSDAY (not friday!) will be at 7:30 at Dupuis. We’re going to be having a Townhall Meeting, which means that we’ll be having our usual time of worship, but we’ll also be discussing together issues that pertain to our fellowship. We want to be sharing what God has been teaching leadership. We also want to be dialoguing about what’s going on, so please email in any questions you have about our fellowship to kingston.ccf@gmail.com, or just bring your questions on thursday! your questions will be shared anonymously.

we’re also going to be having a PRAYER MEETING for our town hall meeting WEDNESDAY night at 8pm at Mac Correy E229. So we also encourage you to come if you can and pray for our gathering, because that’s what we need to be doing first.

2. Our Nomination Committee has been formed, so PLEASE CHECK www.kccf.ca for the people in NomCom. NomCom will be meeting up this week to begin talking and praying about committee for the next year, so please keep them in your prayers!

3. A calendar has now been put on the website, so I encourage you to check it to know what’s happening in the next few months !

4. And of course, the usual stuff:

- PRAYER MEETINGS are every Tuesday 5:30pm, Thursday 11:30am in the office, queen’s centre A603

- 10 13, or our Chinese ministry, is Saturday mornings at 10:13, and contact Cindy for more info - cindy.my.kwong@gmail.com

- STREET EVANGELISM is happening every Wednesday at 2:30pm at Mac Correy. Please contact Harry (harryhzhou@gmail.com) or Stephen Hung (pengi@rogers.com).

That’s it! And if you ever have any questions, comments, stories of God’s faithfulness, prayer requests, things you’re wrestling with, please feel free to email us back. We would love to hear from you !

So have a blessed week, everyone. Remain in Him !

in His love,

mel

Hellooo, KCCF !

This proxy vote is for people who will NOT be at KCCF on Feb 5th, as a way to represent them/make sure that everyone gets their vote. If you will be here, there is no need to do this proxy vote. If you are doing the proxy vote, please read through all the guidelines carefully. Thank you!

Guidelines:
1) You are only allowed to submit 1 vote per person. If you are present at KCCF on Feb 5th during the voting time alloted in the program, your proxy vote will be void.
2) We require you to write down your name in your reply so that we can ensure the integrity of the proxy ballot (just to make sure that everyone votes only once).
3) Your proxy ballot will be reviewed by Chris Ng, Melissa Lam and Cindy Kwong. Your name and your selections will be treated in confidence.
4) Submission of a ballot must take place BEFORE 11:59pm on February 5th.
5) To submit a ballot simply email kingston.ccf@gmail.com with the names of those you have selected (see below for the names). Make sure you indicate your own name.
6) We encourage you to review the Nomination Committee explanation document (check the post below) if you have any questions. Feel free to email kingston.ccf@gmail.com if you have any further inquiries.
7) You may submit a ballot only if you are a member of KCCF (see nomination committee document for further explanation - check the post below).

Before voting, we ask that you spend some time praying over these people and discern God’s will for them. Although this is process seems incredible technical, it is also incredibly spiritual. We ask that you keep Christ in mind as you make your selections.

You may select 3 of the current committee members to be on the 2010 Nomination Committee:
[] Timothy Cheng
[] Melissa Lam
[] Chris Ng
[] Vinci Ng

You may select 4 members of KCCF at large:
[] Season Kam
[] Janice Lee
[] Troy Ng
[] Clemence Tsang
[] Jennifer Wong

Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we need a Nomination Committee?

Through out the Bible, godly leaders were not voted to their position, but appointed to the responsibility. We see this from Abraham all the way to Timothy. Leaders were chosen by people who seek God’s will and are attentive to His voice. This is why we believe that a committee of God fearing sons and daughters who love him and listen to Him should be formed to seek His will in the next phase in leadership.

What are the responsibilities of the Nomination Committee?

The Nomination Committee will be responsible for selecting the 2010-2011 Executive and Sub-Committee. They will be appointing the next Chair, English Vice Chair, Chinese Vice chair, Bible Study Coordinators, Discipleship and Devotional Coordinator, Treasurer, Worship Coordinator, Retreat Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator and Prayer Coordinator.

This process usually includes a detailed review and interview process with the nominees followed by extensive deliberation process and most importantly prayer.

Who are we looking for to be on the Nomination Committee?

As mentioned above, we are looking for God fearing sons and daughters who love him and listen to Him. Nomination Committee members cannot be voted into the 2010-2011 Executive or Sub-Committee, so if you are considering being on Committee Leadership next year, Nomination Committee is not for you. Nomination Committee must consist of 3 members from the 2009-2010 Committee, 1 of which has to be from the Executive committee, and 4 members from the fellowship at large.

How does the time commitment for the Nomination Committee look like?

The nomination committee will have to work under a defined timeline designated by the current executive committee. This means, there will be a lot to get through under a short amount of time. Meetings in the past lasted up to 8 hours and interviews may take up several hours during the week.

How do I nominate someone to be on the Nomination Committee?

You can simply email kingston.ccf@gmail.com put “Nomination Committee Nominee” under the subject and indicate the name(s) of the person you want to nominate in the email. If you feel called to be on the nomination committee, we encourage you to nominate yourself.

What happens after I nominate someone for Nomination Committee?

After the nomination process, the nominees will receive an email asking them to either accept or decline the nomination. They will have about a week to do so.

1. This Friday is outreach night, which means that we’ll be focusing
on what it means to love others as Jesus has commanded us to, through
looking at CCF ministries and also our campus, kingston, and the
world. Please bring your BIBLES, as there will be opportunities to
look at what God says directly in His Word, and it’s generally a good
thing to have His Word handy!!! We’ll be at Dupuis starting at
7:30pm, but feel free to come earlier for prayer for our fellowship at
7pm! Feel free to also come a bit earlier to just chill :]

2. Like every week, prayer meetings are happening ! There was one
today at 5:30, but there’s also one TOMORROW/WEDNESDAY at 11:30am in
JDUC 217 ! If it’s been hard to spend time with God lately with all
the stuff that’s happening, take hold of this opportunity to
discipline yourself to spend time with God in this gathering !

3. We’re still in need of drivers for worship team ! So if you have a
car in Kingston, please help us out with driving equipment back and
forth for the worship team on Friday nights. We need your help !
Please contact broncos: broncos.lai@gmail.com

4. If you’re in BEWIC this year, please remember to pay Tim $15 to
play! And if you haven’t emailed him your contact info yet, email
him ! Or if you don’t remember if you have or haven’t, do it on the
safe side ! Tim’s email is timothy.cheng.ca@gmail.com
